Neil grew up in South Africa during the Apartheid years. He was on the first multiracial sports team to represent the nation as a high school gymnast. He spent his university years at the UW and after built a sports Physical Therapy practice which he ran for 30 years. During that time he taught at the UW and around the nation and indeed the world. He is a published author, and he produced the iPhone App Pain Free Back which Future Trends Magazine rated "the future of health care".
As a physical therapist Neil worked with professional athletes. He developed a golf specific program for rehab and conditioning purposes during the mid-nineties. Producing the video, the Swing Reaction System, Neil discovered new ideas to bring to the golfers attention, and he wrote the book 'Total Conditioning for Golfers', first published in 2000. He also produced a poster set to go along with the book as well as a specific tool The Golf Gizmo for golfers to use while exercising.
Neil is a co-founder of Smart Metabolism, and as the clinician behind the company designed the scientific weight loss program which is now standard treatment at the Siteman Cancer Treatment Center in St. Charles, Kansas. Neil is also the author of the best seller, Total Conditioning for Golfers, the second edition now in circulation since 2000. Neil has been a featured speaker at many education forums for the WSPTA, IDEA and ACE as well as at other national and international venues, inclduing in Canada, Australia and England. Neil served as a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Washington State Physical Therapy Association for several years, and as the Chairman of the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Special Interest Group in Western Washington. Neil and his family are residents in the Seattle area.
Neil is currently working as a commercial real estate broker after retiring from the field of physical therapy.
